We develop, acquire and manage investments in decarbonization and renewable energies
OUR GOAL
We aim to boost the sustainable expansion of renewable energies and make a contribution to the energy transition and decarbonization.
OUR KNOW-HOW
With our know-how, we support investors who want to get involved in the renewable energies asset class in their search for suitable investment properties/objects. Additionally, we provide support to project owners to develop their projects in financial, operational and project management matters.
Due to our extended expertise in the asset class “hydropower” as well as other renewable energies (such as photovoltaics, wind, solar thermal energy, hydrogen,…) we provide our customers with professional advice in the selection of their sustainable investments in Europe+ and worldwide.
DECARBONIZATION
We are active in all technology areas of renewable energy and are specialized in hydropower plants, photovoltaics, thermal solar plants and storage technologies. We have both transaction expertise for the acquisition of power plants already in operation as well as comprehensive project development expertise. We also focus on hybrid projects with complementary technologies (storage, PV, wind, geothermal energy) for optimal synergy utilization in order to meet the growing challenges of increasingly volatile energy markets in the future.
PARTNERSHIPS
We closely cooperate with development banks and various European institutions operating in the field of renewable energies. Many years of international experience enable us to support our clients in their search for capital partners, both on the equity and debt side.

Cogeme Green: A Milestone in Sustainable Energy
We are delighted to announce the foundation and launch of Cogeme Green, a joint venture between Cogeme Nuove Energie (CNE), a regional energy supplier in Lombardy, and the European Energy Efficiency Fund (eeef). As the initiator and asset manager of this project, enso GmbH is committed to the sustainable generation of electricity from renewable energy sources for CNE's customers. The term of the asset management contract is fixed for 10 years minimum.
At the heart of the project are 14 small and medium-sized photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 55 MWpeak, which are being built in northern and central Italy. enso GmbH assumes the role of asset manager and ensures that the best possible technologies available today are used in addition to the economic success of the JV. The clean electricity generated will be supplied via long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) to a large number of CNE's customers, including municipalities, businesses and industries in and around the Cogeme area.
This partnership is an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint in these regions. It promises to boost economic growth, create new jobs and ensure stable energy costs for businesses and residents alike.
Wolfgang Kröpfl, CEO of enso GmbH: “As the initiator and asset manager of the JV, we are pleased to make a significant contribution to the decarbonization of this region in northern and central Italy with their photovoltaic systems.”
1st prize at the Constantinus Award | "Green energy for green steel" project
On June 13th, we won the first prize in the "International Projects" category of the Constantinus Award.
With the "Green Energy for Green Steel" project, we worked with and for our client Max Aicher to set the course and develop a portfolio strategy that will allow the company to gradually convert its steel production to green energy.
We provided Max Aicher with comprehensive advice on the search for green energy sources and the implementation of the changeover. As part of the task, a pipeline of acquisition targets in south-eastern Europe was designed and the first acquisition of the Dunakiliti power plant in Hungary was successfully completed. Not only a contribution to a sustainable future, but also a decisive competitive advantage in the highly competitive international steel market.
The Constantinus Award is Austria's most important consulting, accounting and IT prize, which has been awarded annually since 2003 on the initiative of the Austrian Association for Management Consultancy, Accounting and Information Technology (UBIT). The Constantinus is awarded in many countries around the world and the Constantinus International Award, for which enso has also applied following this success in Austria, is awarded in an international competition.
It is both an honour and an incentive for us to continuously drive our projects forward and thus make a significant contribution to decarbonization and a sustainable future, in line with our guiding principle "Sustainable energy for a sustainable future - made in Austria".
