enso hydro in power station projects, mostly through especially set up foreign subsidiaries, in its target regions. The enso GmbH und Co KG which holds a 100% stake in enso hydro serves as an investment pool in which the investor capital is gathered. enso GmbH functions as an asset manager and supports enso hydro GmbH in selecting and realising the projects.

In all target areas, initial investments have already been made. enso hydro has acquired a 80% participation in the Albanian Lengarica & Energy and a 51% stake in the Turkish Kuyuma Elektrik Üretim*, each held by the respective country holding company. Furthermore, enso hydro has purchased 51% of the Norwegian country holding company Bekk og Strøm AS. Bekk og Strøm holds a 51% stake in Lindåna, a power station already in operation, and a 100% stake in the projected power station Holldalbekken. In Austria, a lease agreement for a power station in Styria has been finalised.
Founded in 1999, enso GmbH (formerly named enso-Energienetzwerk Südost GmbH) has long-standing experience in South East Europe and expertise in the planning, the realization and in the operative management of hydroelectric power stations. Its tasks include the project selection, development and management, the preparation of the acquisition of power plants, the operations monitoring and the dealing with any sale of individual power plants. The enso GmbH & Co KG serves as an investment pool.
Limited partners of the enso GmbH & Co KGs are among others the entrepreneurial family Kapsch and the initiator of the enso group, Gilbert Frizberg.
